water electrolysis under high pressure

Hydrogen production

This project aims to make a contribution to the development of high-pressure electrolyzers that can be used industrially. The stack concept based on hydraulic compression enables a modular design that offers significant advantages over commercial electrolyzer systems. Conceptually, there is no limit to the maximum possible active cell area due to the hydraulic pressure on an individual cell basis, which allows future development on all scales. In addition, operation as a high-pressure electrolyzer with output pressures greater than 50 bar is possible. Cost and efficiency advantages can be expected through the use of thinner membranes.
