Innovation Project
LLEC:P2G++
Seasonal storage in coupled, renewable energy systems using power-to-gas (P2G)
Infrastructure project
In the sub-project "P2G++" ("Seasonal storage in coupled, regenerative energy systems using power-to-gas (P2G)"), the researchers are investigating how large quantities of hydrogen can be stored in a liquid carrier (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier, LOHC) and thus used all year round. The "test stand", the necessary infrastructure, is being built within the framework of the Living Lab Energy Campus (LLEC) and expanded to include certain components. For example, a new dynamic pipeline will be built as a temporary storage facility for the gaseous hydrogen.
