Innovation Project
LLC: P2G++
Seasonal storage in coupled, renewable energy systems using Power-to-Gas (P2G)
Infrastructure project
In the sub-project "P2G++" ("Seasonal storage in coupled, renewable energy systems using power-to-gas (P2G)") the researchers investigate how large amounts of hydrogen are stored in a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier, LOHC) so that it can be used all year round. The "test bench", the necessary infrastructure, will be expanded within the framework of the Living Lab Energy Campus (LLEC) and will be expanded with certain components. For example, a new dynamic pipeline will be built as an intermediate storage facility for the gaseous hydrogen.
