Innovation Project

Joint project: TrafoHyVe

Transformation process for the integration of hydrogen on distribution networks

Infrastructure project

As part of the joint project, an innovative planning methodology is to be developed for the efficient design of the transformation process at distribution network level. To this end, technological, infrastructural and business management aspects are assessed and evaluated starting from the current situation on the basis of real data from the urban and rural networks of the municipal utilities and network operators involved, in order to derive strategies for implementing the energy transition at distribution network level and to implement them in follow-up projects. Here, the limits of the existing infrastructure regarding the compatibility of water and the timing of adaptations should be shown in the form of 'conversion plans', which show a cost-effective and technically safe conversion of the existing distribution networks and the customer facilities connected to them to water concentrations of 20 vol..-% respectively. 100 % (H2-ready) allow. Sub-project: Within the TrafoHyVe joint process lies the topic responsibility of the DVGW CERT GmbH in the area of procedures for the certification of gas products at distribution network level and domestic gas installations. This does not only include the certification procedures themselves, but also indirectly the legal framework, as well as the standards, regulations and test bases underlying these procedures.
