HyExpert - Düren district

For years, the district has been on the way to becoming a model region that focuses on the future topic of hydrogen. The district of Düren is positioning itself on many levels and is constantly pushing the topic of H2 forward: as a producer of green hydrogen, as a consumer, in local public transport, in the economy and among the citizens of the district of Düren. Planned and ongoing projects include a hydrogen ambulance, the conversion of 180 diesel buses to H2, the purchase of 17 hydrogen trains (Rurtalbahn, Eifel-Bördebahn routes) and the construction of a 9 MW PEM electrolyzer. In May, the federal government presented funding notices for various projects totaling 81.6 million euros.
