Innovation Project

H2 Bedburg

H2 Bedburg is a new joint project with an electrolyser for the production of hydrogen, a filling station for industry and private use, and a gas station.

Buildings/quarters

H2 Bedburg is a joint project between RWE and the city of Bedburg with an electrolyser for the production of hydrogen, an filling station for industry and private use, and a gas station. The location is ideal: the Mühlenerft industrial park is fully developed, is conveniently located with good links to the A61, and the electricity for producing the hydrogen can be obtained from the adjacent wind and solar park. The customers of the green hydrogen will be local public transport, which is being converted to hydrogen, and local companies. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in the Mühlenerft industrial park at the end of 2026 with an output of around 5 MW. Later expansion stages will make a total output of around 15 MW possible.
