SUNIES
Sustainable and innovative fuel cell applications for island energy systems
Buildings/quarters
The energy supply (electricity, heat and cold) and the water supply of islands – both geographically and in the sense of decently organized island regions – are part of a modern, sustainable energy policy. The goal of the "SUNIES" project is the development of a continuous energy concept for island applications. With a view to modern energy supply, special fuel cell systems are considered with a description of the sustainability of the generation of electrical energy. Using Greece as an example, with its numerous small islands, some of which are far apart from each other, we will show how fuel cells The German-Greek cooperation project SUNIES investigates how a fuel cell-based energy concept can function in island applications.
