The central aim of the project is to develop a modular blueprint for a decentralised energy and heat transition at neighbourhood level.

The holistic approach of the Literature Quarter is to be concretised and implemented together with the city of Essen. The city advises and accompanies the planning and implementation. The aim is to transfer the results and further learning successes as a blueprint for optimising the holistic energy-related neighbourhood development of existing and new neighbourhoods in Essen as a central strategy for achieving climate protection goals. The city of Essen supports the Reallabor Literaturquartier in its participation by involving citizens, schools, politicians, associations, etc.
