Mobility
NIP II - Hy-Lab
Hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles enable emission-free electric mobility with long ranges and short refueling times. However, hydrogen can contain impurities that damage fuel cells. In order to guarantee the required service life of fuel cells, the quality of hydrogen supplied at filling stations must therefore be checked regularly.
For this reason, the project “Hy-Lab – Development and establishment of two independent laboratories for hydrogen quality measurement in accordance with international standards” aims to expand and upgrade the analytical laboratories of the Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik GmbH (ZBT) and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) are to be expanded and upgraded so that they can serve as independent sampling stations and laboratories for quality monitoring at filling stations throughout Germany and Europe.
