Innovation Project
NIP II - DOLPHIN
Research into alternative materials and manufacturing processes for cost- and weight-reduced pressure vessels made of continuous fibre-reinforced plastics
Mobility
The technical goal of the project is to research a hydrogen storage technology that, compared to the current state of the art or the technologies currently available on the market, has lower costs and a lower weight in relation to the amount of hydrogen stored. The project is pursuing a holistic approach that covers all relevant aspects of the further development of individual components of a pressure vessel. This includes refining the specification, carrying out research and development work on the liner, resin-fibre composite and winding, and carrying out independent tests to prove the safety and general certifiability of the jointly developed container.
