The NexPlas project aims to produce higher-value chemicals from green hydrogen and CO2. The goal of NexPlas is to produce methanol - an important raw material for the chemical industry. What is special about NexPlas: For the production, the project combines a plasma process with a membrane process. Plasma is created by adding so much energy to gas that it becomes partially or even completely ionised - and thus electrically conductive. The combined NexPlas process is to be used flexibly. This means that it can be used when there is more electricity in the grid than is actually needed.
