Innovation Project
MefCO2
Hydrogen production
Methanol is one of the most widely used and important platform chemicals and is already added to gasoline. Methanol is traditionally obtained from coal or coal. The aim of MefCO2 is to produce methanol from carbon dioxide CO2 and the CO2-Emissions from industrial sources such as fossil-fired power plants and steel or cement works. The hydrogen produced for this purpose is generated by water electrolysis under the use of renewable energy.
