IN4climate.RR

With the IN4climate.RR project, the Rhenish Mining District (RR) is to become a model region for climate-neutral industry. Together with other stakeholders such as companies, research institutions, politicians, intermediaries and civil society organisations, IN4climate.RR is working out strategies on site for how industry can maintain its competitiveness in the future, generate growth and at the same time achieve climate protection goals - in order to also bring these directly into application.

IN4climate.NRW and the Wuppertal Institute are using the structures and project experience they have successfully built up in recent years to jointly connect research and companies in the Rhenish Mining Area to the state-wide, national and international adjacent processes and transformation developments. The content focus will be the work in future laboratories on the topics of Industrial Hydrogen Economy, Sustainable Carbon Economy and Circular Value Creation, which are of crucial importance for a future climate-neutral industry. In these fields, the decisive institutions in the region will be networked, strategies developed and, with a view to the overall direction of the transformation process, additional projects along strategic lines initiated, acquired and their implementation accelerated.
