Hydrogen region Aachen area

The city of Aachen, the Aachen city region and the districts of Düren, Euskirchen and Heinsberg want to jointly become a nationwide hydrogen model region. The Aachen Chamber of Industry and Commerce is supporting them in this endeavour. The aims of the cooperation include generating added value locally, creating new jobs and becoming a sustainable hotspot of the German hydrogen economy.

-To coordinate the planned activities, the Hydrogen Hub Aachen will in future be supported by a joint project office based at the Aachen Chamber of Industry and Commerce. A first milestone to be reached: The region will apply as a nationwide hydrogen model region under the "HyLand" funding programme of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. This is intended to support the development of a regional hydrogen economy.
