Innovation Project

H2-Substitution II

Infrastructure project

The cooperation project investigates the effects of firing H2-rich gas mixtures on the products of metallurgical processes. In addition, possible effects of the H2 admixture on valve and pipe materials of gas-carrying installations of thermoprocessing plants are to be investigated. The approach includes detailed furnace tests on the one hand and comprehensive material analyses on the other. The project has great innovation potential because the use of H2-rich natural gases as fuel in the course of the energy turnaround (power-to-gas) also affects many other branches of industry.
