The plan is to build a 100-megawatt water electrolysis plant for the production of green hydrogen at the INEOS site in Cologne/Dormagen (see IPCEI project "ChemCH2ange"). Initially, the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding the implementation of a feasibility study.
