The aim of the project, called ChemCH2ange, is to use the hydrogen produced using renewable energy directly in the ammonia and methanol production operated by INEOS in Cologne. In addition, this large-scale industrial plant can make Currenta's heat generation processes more sustainable. This climate-neutral variant can also cover hydrogen requirements in the Chempark and beyond. Overall, this project can lead to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of over 120,000 tonnes per year.
