R&D Projects
GET H2 TransHyDE (UP2)
The project considers the entire transport chain for gaseous hydrogen via pipeline: starting with the feed-in, including the compressor station, to the feed-out to downstream networks, hydrogen filling stations, or industrial consumption facilities. The TransHyDE project GET H2 focuses on former natural gas pipelines and their suitability for hydrogen. In addition to methods for determining quality and quantity, the project at the Lingen power plant site is also looking at methods for regularly inspecting the pipelines. To this end, methods for cleaning and inspecting the hydrogen pipelines are to be developed, as well as a remote detection system for hydrogen leaks.
