Innovation Project

PowerPaste

Mobile hydrogen supply of the next generation

Infrastructure project

The content of this joint project is the further development and testing of a compact energy supply for electric drives that is independent of the classic hydrogen infrastructure (filling stations and pressurised gas cylinders) on the basis of PEM fuel cells with a quasi-pressureless hydrogen supply based on POWERPASTE. This is an innovative, liquid or paste-like hydrogen storage system that releases the hydrogen chemically bound in it as needed through a controlled reaction between POWERPASTE and liquid water. The application defined in the project is to be designed for fleet-compatible light vehicles and tested in an example application, since there is an immediate economic exploitation potential on the part of the project partner VITESCO and, in addition, a well-known company in the logistics sector has expressed interest in using the corresponding technology.
