Pilot project H2-MiX

In Niederberg and Borr, hydrogen is being used for heat supply for the first time. Since October 2022, 20 percent has been fed into the gas network of the two Erftstadt districts. Before I came to the implementation of the hydrogen feed-in, the project partner had all the materials and components in the gas network and with the residents checked in detail. The Erftstadt districts of Niederberg and Borr are particularly suitable for the pilot project due to their network structure and construction years. The network, built from 2007 onwards, consists of modern components and can be optimally monitored. If the smallest irregularities occur, the feed-in system switches off automatically immediately. Even in this unlikely event, the supply of residents with normal natural gas is guaranteed.
