NexPlas – NEXT GENERATION PLASMA CONVERSION: Integration of green hydrogen into the plasma conversion of CO2

The NexPlas project aims to produce higher-quality chemicals from green hydrogen and CO2. The goal of NexPlas is the production of methanol – an important raw material of the chemical industry. The special thing about NexPlas is that the project combines a plasma process with a membrane process for production. Plasma is created when gas is supplied with so much energy that it is partially or even completely ionized – and thereby electrically conductive. The combined NexPlas procedure should be used flexibly. This means that it can be used when there is more electricity available in the grid than is needed.
