Hydrogen Filling Stations
Mechernich - Peterheide (350/700bar)
Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) has set a target of August 2026 for the completion of the H2 refuelling station for its hydrogen bus fleet at Peterheide in Mechernich.
The facility is to be built on the site of the future Training and Further Education Centre for Climate-Neutral and Digital Mobility (AWM). At its heart will be an electrolyser, which is to be powered exclusively by electricity from renewable sources. In addition, there will be a publicly accessible refuelling station located in front of the future building complex.
Two 350-bar refuelling points will be available for the buses, whilst an additional 700-bar point is planned for cars and trucks. The facility is scheduled to come into operation by the end of 2026.
