Innovation Project
Joint project: KaLiBer? Subproject: Filter testing methodology and investigation of harmful gas influence on the cathode
KaLiBer - Development and verification of cathode air filters for stationary fuel cell systems in the maritime, construction and agricultural sectors; sub-project: filter testing methodology and investigation of harmful gas influence on the cathode
Industrial Application
The trend in the use of hydrogen in PEM fuel cells is increasingly towards larger applications. In addition to heavy-duty transport (long-distance trucks and buses), the fuel cell is also interesting for other applications that require high performance requirements and also require quick refueling. This applies in particular for mobile but also stationary applications, such as permanently installed machines in construction and land-use areas, mobile construction and land-use machines as well as maritime applications. These areas of application are partly characterized by high levels of pollutant gases in the air, for example due to high ammonia concentrations in agriculture. In order to be able to achieve the required high lifetimes of the fuel cell systems, pollutant gas filters adapted to the application are therefore required in addition to particle filters. The aim of the project is the application-specific development and design of a pollutant gas filter for use in the stationary and mobile heavy-duty sector.
