The aim of the project is to reduce or avoid CO2 emissions in the steel industry through the use of hydrogen in continuously operated thermal process plants, using reheating furnaces as an example. The subsequent process and product quality, under the conditions of the modified heating process, is ensured by adapting the process control, descaling, and use of oxidation-conditioning coatings.
