Hydrogen Region

Hymat

The core idea is to use electrolysis to generate 100% green hydrogen using electricity - mainly from community wind turbines, for which the EEG remuneration will end after 20 years (post-EEG turbines). This will be used to supply bus routes, a railway line and filling stations for waste disposal and logistics companies, company cars and, in the future, agricultural vehicles. The detailed concept determines the production potential of green hydrogen at five different locations in the Steinfurt district and shows the resulting CO2 savings potential. It also describes new business models for companies in the district's transport, logistics and energy sectors, as well as new economic opportunities for the city-surrounding area relations of the Steinfurt district and the city of Münster. A communication concept tailored to the individual groups of actors rounds off the detailed concept. The future implementation and roll-out is to take place in a regionally organized hydrogen competence center - here we will test what could succeed in many places: Green hydrogen mobilizes the country!
