Preliminary study for the transformation of an existing diesel shunting locomotive into a hydrogen shunting locomotive

The aim of this study is to create the basis for further activities for the development, construction and commissioning of a hydrogen-powered SGV locomotive and to examine the basic feasibility. In particular, it is to be analysed and evaluated which requirements and solution approaches exist and whether such a development project is better to be aimed at as a conversion of an existing vehicle or as a new vehicle. The study will examine two commercially available diesel locomotives in different performance classes.
