Mobility
Hydrogen buses in the Düren district
The Düren district and Rurtalbus GmbH are accelerating the transition to climate-friendly public transportation: Five new hydrogen-powered articulated buses (GOM) have recently been added to the fleet. These are the first GOM buses in the entire district to be powered by hydrogen (H²). Twenty standard buses with H² propulsion are already in successful service. The entire fleet of approximately 180 vehicles is set to be converted to sustainable mobility in the interest of climate protection. The five new hydrogen-powered articulated buses thus send a clear signal for future-oriented and climate-friendly mobility in the Düren district.
Refueling takes twelve minutes at the hydrogen refueling station in the “Im Großen Tal” industrial park near the A4. According to the manufacturer, the GOM can travel approximately 600 kilometers after refueling.
