HyDN

The entire production facility will be built and operated by HyDN, a company in which Messer Industriegase and the Düren district each hold a 50 percent stake.

In addition to hydrogen production via electrolysis, the facility will also include compression, storage, filling stations, and an operations building.

The first green hydrogen is scheduled to be produced in mid-2026. Up to 1,000 metric tons of H2 can then be produced annually. The green hydrogen will primarily be used to refuel buses in the Düren district, thereby promoting the mobility transition.
