In March 2023, the BMBF-funded project "T!Raum - Transfer Spaces for the Future of Regions" launched the "H2!Raum Mittelstand Ruhr 2030" (H2R) initiative for the implementation of transfer tasks in the field of hydrogen in the Ruhr area. The implementation is carried out by a consortium of the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Energy IEG and other partners. H2R aims to promote the decarbonization of energy production and use with the help of renewably generated hydrogen. To this end, the transfer space is to be gradually established as a regional demonstration, innovation and competence center for hydrogen systems. H2R involves numerous medium-sized companies and aims to develop and test transfer formats with their associated activities and service modules in an agile form of cooperation and different structures. In this way, the initiative aims to deliver results for a broad energy transition for medium-sized companies.
