H2HoWi
Holzwickede is becoming a pioneer: In the community near Dortmund, 100 percent green hydrogen (H2) is now flowing for the first time through a public natural gas pipeline. The distribution network operator Westnetz GmbH has changed part of the natural gas network for the transport of H2. Three companies are thus generating part of the required space heating. The unique research and development project "H2HoWi" in Germany is accompanied by the German Brennstoffinstitut Freiberg and creates important conditions for the success of the local energy transition. The project is supported by the regional network owner Energienetze Holzwickede.
