H2Giga_TP_SEGIWA

To meet Germany’s demand for green hydrogen, large-scale production capacity of high-performance, cost-effective electrolysers is needed. While high-performance electrolysers are already available on the market today, their manufacturing is still largely done by hand. The flagship project H2Giga will therefore support the mass production of electrolysers. Together, established electrolyzer manufacturers, suppliers from various technology sectors—including many small and medium-sized enterprises—as well as research institutions and universities are advancing existing electrolysis technologies. SEGIWA is researching automated manufacturing methods for PEM electrolyzers to achieve production capacities in the gigawatt range. It encompasses all manufacturing steps, from individual components to complete stacks.
