AEM multicore electrolyzers
Hydrogen production
Enapter AG is building a factory in Saerbeck for AEM hydrogen electrolyzers, which turn green electricity and water into hydrogen. The electrolyzers are still relatively small, but the joint project "HY-Core" will change that. Its goal is to develop and build the first AEM electrolyzer in the megawatt class: the AEM multicore. It is made up of 420 core modules - so-called AEM stacks. These are combined into an overall system that can produce around 450 kilograms of green hydrogen with a purity of 99.999% per day. The individual process steps were carried out by scientists from the Münster University of Applied Sciences. 2023 will be characterized above all by the construction of the first electrolyzer systems. Pre-series readiness is to be achieved by 2024.
