EnEff:Stadt: enerPort II – Optimized energy use in the port microgrid @ DGT

The Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) serves as an example of how a modern container terminal can achieve a sustainable energy supply that benefits the system as a whole. The terminal relies on a local, hydrogen-based energy system that integrates various energy conversion and storage facilities, thereby providing both electricity and heat in a sustainable manner. There are also options for linking the energy system with surrounding neighborhoods or industrial companies. Concepts will therefore be developed to show where there is potential for synergy with surrounding stakeholders, how this can be exploited, and where obstacles are hindering implementation. With this approach, the project contributes to developing innovative energy supply concepts at the local level, testing them in practice, and making them compatible with the surrounding area.
