Electrolyser in Mechernich

2 MW PEM - In the district of Euskirchen, another strategic milestone is expected to be realized from the end of 2026. The filling station there will be equipped with its own 2 MW PEM electrolysis plant. In the future, it will produce around 850 kg of green, RFNBO-compliant hydrogen directly on site every day in accordance with the European RED II Directive. With a storage capacity of approx. 1,500 kg, a bus refuelling process (350 bar) with pre-cooled hydrogen takes only about 10 minutes. The system also provides for heat extraction for local heating and offers 700 bar refuelling for cars and trucks, which can be used by the public.
