Innovation Project
ALELY - Alkaline electrolysis
Hydrogen production
In the ALELY project, materials developed by the partners such as membranes, ionomers and electrocatalysts were used and qualified and characterized for use in an AEMEL system. New membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) are constructed from these individual components and their composition is optimized. The stack and system design must be adapted to the new materials in terms of design and operation. Finally, the materials were integrated into a system with a performance of 50 kW and a pressure of >30 bar Hydrogen as a prototype. The prototype will be integrated into a real system environment at the partner EWE and thus performance and cost advantages can be quantified using real operating data as part of a techno-economic analysis.
